Who We Are

Carpenter Electrification is the electrification-focused business unit of Carpenter Technology Corporation (NYSE: CRS), a global leader in high-performance specialty alloys with more than 130 years of materials engineering experience.

We specialize in soft magnetic alloys — including the Hiperco®, Hypocore®, and Evanohm® families — and stator and rotor lamination stacks used in electric traction motors, generators, auxiliary power units (APUs), battery management systems, and other power-dense electrified applications.

Our materials are used in over 75% of generators and APUs installed on commercial and defense aircraft. With production capacity exceeding 100,000 tons per year and AS9100 certification, we are a trusted partner for programs where material performance, manufacturing precision, and supply reliability are critical.

What We Do

Carpenter Electrification helps motor designers and OEMs increase torque density, power density, and efficiency in electric machines by combining:

1. Soft magnetic alloys: iron-cobalt and specialty alloys with up to 25% higher magnetic induction and 30% lower core losses than conventional electrical steel.

2. Stator and rotor stacks: precision laminations, heat treatment, bonding, and assembly from prototype through serial production.

3. Application engineering: motor design consultation, material selection, stack processing optimization, and performance testing.

4. Electrical resistance alloys: including Evanohm® R for precision battery management system (BMS) resistors.
